Potty Training Progress: Day 1

Well, as I expected, Maya is not that into the whole potty-training process. Here are a some things I learned today:

1. Maya loves to flush the toilet and wash her hands.
2. She prefers to climb up (acrobatic-style) on the toilet herself.
3. She is "all done" after a second of trying.
4. She does not like the pull-ups and says they are "ouchie"
5. Getting the pull-ups wet (and making the purple flowers on the front fade) does not phase her. Jadyn hated when the flowers disappeared and would get sad. Maya looks at me like, "who even cares?"
6. M&M's, reading books, and using a sticker reward chart is not going to cut it for this kid. I am going to have to come up with something new for her.
7. She preferred to chew on the princess sticker sheet rather than focus on actually getting to use a sticker.
8. It is much harder to potty-train a child when you have two others needing your attention as well. With Jadyn, I could be consistent and patient. With Maya, it was hard to be patient and let her try when Bennett was crying or Jadyn was needing something.

So, hopefully tomorrow will be better. She did go once in the toilet and then twice in a pull-up. She must have been holding it the rest of the time. I better try to push more drinks with her tomorrow so she will need to go more often :)

love it, so funny! I had to pull out the big guns with Branson too. I divided my chart up into different sections like, "pee right after getting out of bed in the morning," peeing, pooing, etc. and when he finished each section he got a different reward, things we agreed on together. Small things of course, but he was motivated by it because he knew he had things coming to him that he wanted. Love that girl! She keeps it real.

How is it going? I feel your pain with having a baby and potty training. Both Sadie & Christina decided on their own to start going on the toilet when I had 2/3 month old. Needless to say, I spent lots of time nursing on the bathroom floor! :)
