Did I blink?
When did Jadyn grow up? I feel like I blinked and missed it. She is looking so much older lately. Here she is this morning as she was headed off to school. Love this girl :)

RIP Abby
Well, Jadyn's fish lived 6 days. When I came down and saw she was not moving, I was dreading telling Jadyn. All Jadyn said was "Oh, can I get a new one?" She certainly was not as torn up as I thought she would be.
So, today we went and got 3 new fish. At .19 a piece, I figured we would get one for each kid. I was hoping they would last awhile so I would not have to keep going to the store. Unfortunately, Abby (Jadyn chose the same name) and Bennett's fish (did not have a chance to name) went belly up within an hour of being at home. Maya's fish (named Strawberry) is still alive....for now. Even Maya said her her prayer, "Thank you my fishy not dead yet".
We think our house is just too cold for the fish. I keep it at a balmy 67 degrees. Nathan is trying to get me to turn up the heat (has been all winter :) Sorry Charlie, it is staying at 67. We might try to spring for the next fish up next go around :)

New addition to the family
Meet Abby: Jadyn's goldfish. She is thrilled that I finally let her get a fish. She has been a great help to me lately and has been very responsible. So, I decided it was time to let her try having a pet. She has been great so far at remembering to feed her at morning and night. We will see how long she remains interested :)
*Disclaimer: this is the only type of pet I will EVER allow!

Maya's 2 1/2 year portraits
Maya had her 2 1/2 year portraits taken today at JcPenney. I bribed her before we even went saying she could have candy when we got home if she cooperated. Amazing how I never even had to think about bribes with Jadyn. They have such different personalities.
It started off well with Maya being pleased with herself for following the photographers instructions to stand on the red dot, hold her hands together, and smile. Well, that lasted one picture. Then, Maya did not want to cooperate. I had to keep reminding her about the candy bribe waiting at home.
She was funny too. She kept trying to smile with her mouth open wide. She was also trying to lean into the camera. It was funny because she was trying to follow the photographers instructions, but she was not quite getting it.
I was so tempted to order slide #9 because that shows Maya's personality to a T....but I went with the traditional wall portrait and ordered #6.

Handsome Boy
Bennett's first tooth (his bottom right) finally broke through the skin last Saturday. His other bottom tooth is just about to break through. He has had a rough time with teething. I don't remember the girls having this much pain/difficulty with teething. He also has a cold...so he has been one miserable guy!
I was trying to get him to smile for me this morning so I could get a couple of finally toothless grins before the teeth are fully in. He was too mesmerized by the camera to smile. Oh well, he looks cute anyway :)

Oh, and he is finally sitting up by himself. Way to be Bennett...because the doctor is going to ask about it at your 9 month check-up next week!
