My little firecrackers

We had a great 4th of July (well, 3rd of July actually since we celebrated yesterday) together as a family. We went to the parade in the morning and then took the whole crew to the fireworks at night. This was Maya's (and Bennett's) first experience with fireworks. We woke her up at 9:45 to head to the fireworks. She was confused about what we were doing. She loved the fireworks (and the popcorn she got to eat during it) and just kept saying bye-bye on the way home because she was sad they were over.

Jadyn made a little friend right before the fireworks started and the friend invited her to sit on her blanket. Those two little girls were hilarious because they were both silly and were getting excited with each firework and screaming whoa, rolling around, and just being funny. Maya then thought you were supposed to say whoa after each firework and started doing that as well.

Too bad it is so late in Michigan. Not sure I would have braved it at 10:00 with my crew when they were young. Hope they recover soon!!!

Good to know that the sun sets so late in Michigan. Bennett sure looks cute in his red, white, and blue outfit!
