Daddy's little basketball player?

Well, it looks as if Nathan might get his wish that Bennett will play basketball. It looks like he will be a tall boy. We had his 2 week check-up this morning, and here are his stats:

Weight: 9 lbs 12 oz (90%)
Height: 22 1/4 inches (97%)
Head Circumference: 15 (50-75%)

The pediatrician was surprised at his weight gain of over a pound since birth. She said he must be eating well!

Jadyn-ism

Jadyn is one funny kid. Just now she told me, "Mom, one time Maya ate kleenex". Oh really Jadyn? "Yes, so when she gets married and has a baby then the baby will get kleenex through her milk". Needless to say she has been very curious about breastfeeding and how Bennett gets milk. I had explained that the food that I eat comes through in the breastmilk. I guess kleenex does too!

First Day at church

So, the pediatrician recommended we avoid going to church, to stores, etc until Bennett was 4 weeks old. Well, I would go insane if I stayed inside that long. So, today at 1 1/2 weeks old, Bennett made his debut at church. It was actually a nice break for me since the girls attended Primary for 2 hours and I got to just be with Bennett....who slept the whole time!

I was a little worried about getting everyone dressed and ready since Nathan has bishopric meetings in the morning. Well, I had everyone ready an hour early and then we were just sitting around waiting for church. I am under no mistaken impression that this will be the case every week :)

Bennett ready for church (notice the cute shoes :)

Close-up on my little man. His hair is so much lighter than the girls' hair was at birth. I think he might end up being a blondie!

The polished crew:

They grow so fast

Here is a picture of Bennett with his friend Brig (yes, because his mom and I are friends, they automatically become friends!). Brig is almost 5 months old. It reminds me that Bennett is going to grow so quickly :(

For Grandma

Bennett is wondering where Grandma is:

Bath time

Since Bennett's cord stump has not fallen off yet, we are still doing sponge baths. Bennett hates it and screams bloody murder the whole time. Luckily, yesterday we tried the pacifier and now he is content during the bath. Jadyn stands right there ready to put it back in his mouth when it falls out. She is such a little mom and a great help to me.

This picture doesn't show it very well, but Bennett has long, narrow feet. Plus, look at those chicken legs!
