Labor Day

We finished up our trip with the Labor Day parade at Grandma's. This parade was intense. The girls got so much candy. Good thing we left most of it for Grandma's classroom!

Jadyn loves parades so I knew she would enjoy it. However, I did not anticipate how much Maya would love picking up the candy. She was on a mission and would run into the middle of the street to get a piece. She was very determined!

We were able to eat lunch with Uncle Jacob and Aunt Elly before we headed home. Jadyn finally found someone to build the marbleworks with her. She loved playing with them!

Calm admist the chaos

Life with three kiddos is busy. They keep me moving and I often feel like I am running a marathon non-stop. Well, since I don't actually exercise (good intentions don't count, right?), I can't actually say from experience that this is what a marathon would feel like. I just know I am tired :( On a brighter note, Bennett only woke up once last night at 4 am. Let's hope this is the start of him waking up less!

Bennetty Boy (that's his nickname around here) is my little calming influence. He is so sweet that just holding him reminds me to calm down and just be happy with my three little joys.

This is Maya's form of swimming. She likes to dump water from the pool out onto the deck. She also likes wearing her goggles (and looks super cute in them), but of course would not put them back on for me once I got the camera. She has been talking so much more and although she is still head-strong and independent, she is very sweet lately by giving us kisses, etc.

Oh, my joyful Jadyn. She wakes up full of life and goes full force all day long. She is such a big helper to me....although her reasoning/analytical skills sometimes get her in trouble b/c she argues if she doesn't hear the answer she wants the first time!

Sweet Little Man is 3 Months!

Bennett is 3 month's old today. What a sweet little boy he is. Here are some pictures of him in the bath today. He loves to kick his legs and try to turn around.




Here he is looking cute as always. I was trying to capture him smiling because it lights up his whole face (and those around him), but my camera was too slow.

Princess Stats

Maya had her 2-year doctor's appointment last week. Here is how she measured up:

Weight: 25 lbs 9 oz (25-50%)
Height: 33 1/4 inches (25-50%)

Jadyn was the exact same height at 2 years and weighed 26 lbs. These girls have been quite similar in terms of growth and exactly opposite in personality!

The princess is 2!

It is hard to believe that two years have past since Maya Elisabeth joined our family. She is a sweet (and spicy :) part of our family and I am grateful she is my daughter. Lately she has been repeating more words and trying to talk more. It will be interesting to hear what this little girl has to say!

We celebrated Maya's birthday on Friday night (the day before her actual birthday) with Grandma Julie, Aunt Megan, Aunt Sarah, and our friends Derek, Alicia, & Brig. We had a Hawaiian luau theme for her party. We had a BBQ, opened presents, had a pinata, had cake & ice cream, and then went swimming. It was a fun party!

Maya got pull-ups and big girl panties from us. She also got googles, clothes, books, and a toy from others. She was really getting into opening the presents and got excited each time.

It is all about who you know...

...in this case it is hairstylist Aunt Sarah! When Sarah came to visit for Maya's birthday, we were able to take advantage of her newly acquired skills from beauty school. Jadyn, Maya, and I all got haircuts. The girls held very still (and so did I!). We appreciate Aunt Sarah's skills and look forward to more haircuts next time we see her!

Fun with Aunt Meggie!

We were lucky to have Aunt Megan come and visit us for a week. The girls had a blast with her and Bennett loved the extra cuddles and attention he got too!

Jadyn would wake up every morning and beg to go down and wake up Aunt Megan. She loved having a fun playmate. Maya attached right to Megan and would go to her for comfort.

We can't wait for her to come back :)
